Introduction

Hello! Welcome to Vias para el Desarrollo LLC. Thank you taking the time to visit this page. A little bit about myself:

I grew up moving back and forth between the West Coast and the Midwest, and eventually called Salem, Oregon home. I graduated from Oregon State University, and then attended the University of San Francisco School of Law. I am now barred in the state of Oregon.

I spent time doing Tenants’ Rights work (including eviction defense and affirmative litigation) and eventually found my way to Workers Rights with the Legal Services of Oregon’s Farmworkers’ Rights program. In this work I primarily handled cases regarding discrimination, retaliation, health and safety, and unemployment benefits. At the end of a case, I often saw our clients return to the same work system that had initially caused them harm. I became increasingly interested in worker-owned cooperatives as a way to create new work systems to reduce these issues. My work in housing justice also grew an interest in housing cooperatives and community land trusts as a way to create permanent affordable housing.

I opened up Vias para el Desarrollo LLC as a way to support the cooperative movement. I believe cooperatives are a move towards a more equitable society and that on that path we may find solutions we couldn’t have yet imagined.

Outside of work, I like to play music, get outdoors, and spend time with my partner, family, and friends.
